Position Title: Accountant

Reporting To: Finance Manager

 

Role Summary

The accountant is responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare bank and clients account reconciliation, ensure reconciliations files are available and up to date for internal / external Audit and Regulatory examinations.
  • Ensure correct bookkeeping and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of Company budgets and related forecasting and financial plans.
  • Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for review by management.
  • Assist in preparation of internal, external, and regulatory audits filing and reporting.
  • Reconcile Inter-company Ledgers on monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Prepare value added tax returns and ensure taxes are paid accurately and on time.
  • Strategizing, preparing, and submitting UAE corporate tax.
  • Maintain up to date records and files for audits and examinations.
  • Maintain Fixed assets, depreciation, and amortization register.
  • Assist in completing banking forms, applications, and KYC process.
  • Maintain up to date records and files of banking correspondents.
  • Manage the analysis of cashflow and reporting.
  • Review and analyze financial data, including revenue, expenses, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial reporting and improve processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors and other financial institutions / banks.
  • Coordinate with banks on bank facilities and trade transactions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounting and financial systems.
  • Assist in the In Country Value (ICV) documentation, submission, and coordination with 3rd party certifying bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in an accounting role preferably in an Oil & Gas institution.
  • Accounting certification such as CIMA, CMA, ACCA, CPA is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of UAE Tax Regulations
  • Thorough understanding of In Country Value (ICV) program
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Odoo Accounting software (or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of work product and consistently deliver results.
  • Adaptability to collaborate with global teams and meet business needs.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing regulatory environment.
